Children's Ministry

The aim of the Children’s Ministry Team is to teach the children to love God and each other, to encourage a thirst for the Word of God, to build young people’s confidence in who they are in Christ … and of course to have fun! There are currently around 44 committed Christians in the Church who work with children and young people. River of Life is registered with the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service and we have a Safeguarding Policy in place. All our Children's Workers undergo Safeguarding checks, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Disclosures.

On Sunday mornings, the children are with the adults for the first 30 minutes of the meeting and then go to their own groups as follows : Parents/carers are welcome to leave their little ones in a safe environment while they enjoy the Morning Meeting. The Tiny Tadpoles Crèche Team Co-ordinator is Elizabeth Goldring. The Younger Church Co-ordinators are Colin and Lesley Byfield Loveland. Our leaders in this group teach the children about Jesus through games, Bible stories, songs and craft. The Little Lobsters Team Leader is Lizzie Melton. This very lively group enjoys great games, drama, worship, craft and Bible stores and, through these activities, grow in their relationship with Jesus. The Cool Crabs Team Leaders are Colin and Lesley Byfield Loveland. This group enjoys many varied activities and thinks about the issues that affect them in their everyday lives and how they relate to Jesus’ teachings in the Bible. The Surfers Team Leader is Graham Lewis.
